Mastercam Reseller to offer CAD Model Validation to Manufacturing Suppliers

Leuven, Belgium – July 8, 2010 - Capvidia, a Belgium company, is proud to announce that QTE Manufacturing Solutions of St. Louis, MO will resell Capvidia products. Under the terms of the agreement, QTE Manufacturing Solutions will provide sales and support of Capvidia’s CompareVidia product helping Boeing suppliers to comply with Boeing D6-51991 “Quality Assurance Standard for Digital Product Definition”.

CompareVidia is an essential tool in manufacturing process based on the use of MBD (digital model base definition). It validates the translation of the authority data set into mainstream applications as CAM and CMM by detecting differences that may affect the machining quality. The translation of the authority model into Mastercam (check model) can be easily validated with an immediate Pass or Fail result.   The validation details are organized and presented in the Compare Tree.  Problematic entities are grouped to different categories and can be easily examined with a simple mouse click. Authority and check models are displayed in synchronized windows to simplify the investigation of the differences. The results can then be saved to a report and printed to provide a validation certificate.

CompareVidia also can be used to track design and revision changes. Changes in the design are not only accurately identified and detected, but also graphically presented for the user.

CompareVidia’s unique capabilities to find exact relations between two parts have a direct impact on the speed and accuracy of the manufacturing process. Any change between authority and check model including change of the entity definition or change in number of entities (e.g. surface explosion) is controlled and automatically detected.   These kinds of errors are often not detected and result in hidden costs that impact both manufacturing cost and manufacturing quality.
